She didn’t need a program.
She needed presence.
Not a branded ministry, but a broken-hearted companion.
Not polished words, but someone who dared to sit with the mess.
She brought her story — raw, honest, drenched in mercy.
But when she spoke it,
the leader looked away.
Politely. Casually.
As if her pain might smudge the reputation of the platform.
So they labeled her. Redirected her.
Filed her under “Celebrate Recovery,”
never asking what she was actually celebrating,
or how hard-won her return to Jesus had been.
The church may have set her aside.
But Heaven leaned in.
Because Jesus is not an image manager.
He is a heart restorer.
So while the apathetic leader posed for another filtered post,
she knelt low —
and met the Savior who sees.
“A bruised reed He will not break,
and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out,
till He has brought justice through to victory.”
— Matthew 12:20
