A Devotional for the Days that Get Away
Today moved fast.
I meant to sit with the Word… but I didn’t.
I meant to linger in prayer… but the hours filled.
And yet—He was still near.
Not disappointed.
Not distant.
Just… near.
In the past, I would have panicked.
Felt unworthy.
Feared that I had somehow fallen out of favor.
But not today.
Because today, I know the truth:
He will hold me fast.
Not because I performed, but because I’m His.
Like the song says,
“Those He saves are His delight, Christ will hold me fast.”
I may miss the hour, but I haven’t missed Him.
Because grace doesn’t come on a schedule.
It comes like manna—fresh each morning, enough for today.
Scripture to Rest In:
“I have stilled and quieted my soul… like a weaned child with its mother.”
—Psalm 131:2
